How to Make the Best of Your EDC Experience
Every year in Las Vegas, thousands of ravers attend the greatest electronic music festival on Earth, the Electric Daisy Carnival, or EDC. This time, the event will take place starting May 16th, and it’s going to be amazing! Have you seen the lineup already? You’ll get to see Alesso, Tape B, FISHER, Excision, Horsegirl, DJ Snake, Afrojack, Sullivan King, Allison Wonderland, Dom Dolla, Martin Garrix, Illenium, Sara Landry, RL Grime, Gesaffelstein, Rezz, among other fabulous performers!
In this article, I’ll share with you my secrets to guarantee your EDC experience is truly superlative. Whether you have attended before or this is your first time ever, here are some tips to make the most out of EDC Las Vegas 2025.
Before the Festival
Ravers from all across the US or even from other countries spend weeks—even months!—planning the experience. Don’t worry! You still have plenty of time! Here is what you’re going to do:
Plan Your Outfits
You want to look stunning but also comfortable! Keep in mind the heat of the desert when you select your clothing. The heavy fabric is a big no-no if you ask me. You should make sure your shoes in particular are comfortable to keep you all night long breaking the dancefloor. Of course, glitter, neon, and LED accessories are always a hit.
Book Hotel & Shuttle
Last year, over half a million people attended EDC Las Vegas, so believe me when I tell you it gets crowded—so crowded, you won’t find accommodation unless you book it in advance! Additionally, you might get lost between going back and forth from the different stages, or even miss out on your favorite performer! That’s why booking a hotel & shuttle package in advance is a MUST. Don’t worry! In Live How You Want we got you covered: With us, you can book the best hotels and get on an exclusive party bus that will become a memorable part of the whole EDC experience.
Get a Hydration Pack
If this is your first time in EDC, you may be surprised to see so many ravers carrying what looks like a small backpack. They are more than just devices for carrying your phones and keys! They are an all-in-one system that makes it easier to get access to fresh water. You won’t enjoy the festival unless you stay hydrated, this is key in Las Vegas’ dry weather! Before going to EDC, buy yourself a nice hydration pack such as the models from Osprey, CamelBak, or Gregory, which are popular among hikers but also work great in electronic music festivals.
Plan Your Schedule
You are probably excited about seeing your favorite performers on stage! Check out the lineup in advance and study the maps of the different stages. You may find the Insomniac App particularly useful! It has maps, set times, and updates that will help you navigate the festival.
It’s better to come up with a schedule by highlighting your must-sees but you also want to stay open to surprises. After all, any music festival gives you the chance to see new artists, some of which may become your new favorite ones!
Join a Meetup or Rave Group
Are you going solo to the EDC? That’s great! You’ll have plenty of opportunities to meet cool ravers and connect with people. You may want to join an EDC Facebook group or Discord chat before the festival to look forward to face-to-face encounters on the three days of the event.
Or perhaps you are attending the festival with a whole group of friends. How about booking a private ride with Live How You Want? You can opt for a private party bus or a luxe limo roundtrip! You can also choose your custom preferred time and location so every minute you spend in Las Vegas is part of a memorable experience, instead of waiting in line for an unreliable service.
Set a Meet-up Spot
Don’t rely on your cell phone to call for a ride or get together with your fellow ravers. With so many people and devices on-site, cell service can be spotty, so it’s better to pick a landmark in case you get separated from your group.
At the Festival
You get up and check your calendar, and YAY! It’s May 16th already! Before you know it, you are at the EDC, surrounded by a colorful, happy crowd, bright neon lights, and music that feels part of the air you breathe. Here are some tips to enjoy yourself the most during that unique time.
Arrive Early
It’s better to be safe than sorry! Don’t leave everything for the last second. Beat the traffic and explore the festival grounds before the madness begins. You can always retouch your fabulous outfit at our beauty bar on-site!
Take Time for the Rides
You are here for the music, but don’t forget this is a carnival! The Ferris wheel, swings, and other rides make for an unforgettable experience. Go up there, marvel at the wonderful sights, and enjoy yourself as you did when you were a little kid. Between performances, take breaks and use them to explore your surroundings: There’s more than just the main stages—check out art installations, hidden chill spots, and secret sets.
PLUR
Respect the rave culture: Remember the principles that bring us together: Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect. This acronym dates from the 1990s and represents the ravers’ way of life. Be kind, share Kandi, and look out for fellow ravers. In the spirit of PLUR, you are likely to make a lot of new friends!
Get a Great Braided Hairstyle
Nothing screams rave fun like a colorful outfit and a matching braided hairstyle! Bubble braids, goddess braids, a halo braid, or box braids with colorful LED accessories, are all flashy styles that will make you the star of the party! You can also opt for classic protective styles like cornrows or two braids that give you the freedom to dance all night without worrying about tangling your hair… I recommend you SunnyBraids, the top-rated braided studio in Puerto Rico. Their talented braiders are coming to Las Vegas, especially for the EDC. Don’t miss the chance to give your hair the royal treatment you deserve!
Protect Your Ears
Okay, so this may sound a bit preachy, but it’s as important as having a great outfit or posting the best reels during the performances. The music is LOUD. Earplugs will save you from hearing damage. This will make sure you enjoy following editions of EDC as much as this one!
Live in the Moment
We are living in the digital age, so of course we all enjoy capturing memories and sharing our experiences with people on social media. There’s nothing wrong with snapping some pics or going live during your favorite performance. However, don’t be taken away by the desire to get likes or follows. Relax, enjoy the music, and dance with your friends—don’t spend the whole night on your phone! Live in the moment and enjoy it. After all, memories hard-wired in your brain last longer than photo albums.
Enjoy Yourself Responsibly
Sure, we all love to party! If you are legally allowed to drink, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to do it during the EDC! It’s up to you to enjoy yourself while being responsible for your actions. I don’t need to remind you it’s never okay to drink and drive, right? Instead, you can hire our shuttle service with unlimited alcohol and beverages onboard, so your ride is a part of the EDC experience as well and everyone gets safely to the stages and back to your hotels!
After the Festival
So you got to live three days of electrical magic that you’ll never forget. Now what? Here are a few tips to make the memories last!
Have a Recovery Plan
Three days and nights of nearly uninterrupted party may take a toll on your body, especially if you are a veteran or a parent watching over a bunch of teens! You need a few days to recover. Of course, the following Monday you may find it hard to get up early in the morning and go back to work or class. Be patient and don’t worry! Electrolytes, healthy food, and a good sleep routine will help you bounce back.
Share Your Experience
Now it’s the perfect time to edit your videos and create wonderful reels of photos. Post your favorite moments, swap stories with new friends, and relive the magic! You can also begin following your new favorite artists to find out when they are coming to perform near you.
Don’t Be a Stranger!
By the magic of the PLUR, you probably met a lot of great people and made a bunch of new friends from different cities, states, or even countries. Thanks to social media, you can remain in touch and cultivate those friendships. Who knows? Maybe next year you’ll all be reunited in the following edition of the EDC and you can book a shuttle and hotel pack together!
